The tortoise may live long, but there is still time to die.
神龟虽寿,犹有竟时;
Even if the snake can be lifted up in the fog, it will eventually die.
螣蛇乘雾,终为土灰。
An old steed in the stable still aspires to gallop a thousand li;
老骥伏枥,志在千里;
an old hero still cherishes high aspirations.
