Poetic time

With much enjoyment

Decorated with lanterns and colored hangings

张灯结彩

The ancient street was festooned with coloured lights

老街里张灯结彩。

The streets were all decorated with lanterns and festoons.

街头到处张灯结彩天。

Laterns and colourful bands are hanged alongside the long street,

长街两侧张灯结彩,

displaying a festive scene.

一派节日的气象。

Comparatively speaking, I like chaste poetry better.

相比较而言,我更喜欢朴实无华的诗。

He composed mystery stories as well as love poems.

他既写爱情诗也写神秘故事。

I have been used to consider poetry as the food of love.
